Understanding how your child learns
Specialist teacher and Dyslexia assessor based in Surrey. Full Diagnostic Specialist Cognitive (Dyslexia) Assessment.
Most parents arrive with the same quiet worry. Their child is brighter than their reading, spelling or writing shows, and no one can quite say why. A specialist assessment gives you the answer in plain terms, with a clear plan for school, exams and home.

Why Christine
Hello, I’m Christine
I’m Christine. For decades, in both state and independent schools, I have taught and assessed children and adults who learn differently. An assessment with me is calm and unhurried. We begin with a conversation, not a form.
I explain everything in plain language, and the report you receive is one you can actually use, with school, with exam boards, and at home. I am Mum to two young adults, and a proud member of a neurodivergent family, so this work is personal as well as professional.

What an assessment looks like
Three steps, start to finish
A free 30-minute chat
We talk through your worries and whether an assessment is the right next step. No charge, and no pressure.
The assessment
A full, unhurried session in a quiet room, with breaks whenever they are needed. Most take around two and a half hours.
A 45-minute video call
We go through the findings together, before the report is finalised, so you know exactly what it means.
What’s included
What you get that others often leave out
A free 30-minute call before
A relaxed conversation before you commit to anything, so you can ask what is on your mind and decide in your own time.
A 45-minute video call after
Most assessors hand over the report and that is where it ends. I walk you through the findings, line by line.
A SASC-compliant report
Written to the standard schools, exam boards and universities expect, usually 25 to 30 pages, and useful whatever the outcome.
Recognition of co-occurring needs
I notice the signs of what often travels alongside dyslexia, such as autism, ADHD or dyspraxia.
Onward referral support
Where something else is worth exploring, I write an onward referral letter, attach it to the report, and talk it through with you first.

What families say
We are incredibly grateful for Chris’ support. She has completed full assessments, taken time to explain her findings to us in detail over a video call, and written a report in a very short time frame. Her liaison with us, teachers, and other professionals has been fantastic, and she goes above and beyond to make suggestions and recommendations. To top it all off, my son actually really enjoyed his assessment and found it fun! I would highly recommend Chris.
Chris assessed my 8 year old son. The whole process was smooth and easy going, with Chris putting both mine and my son’s anxiety around the whole process at ease. Chris was extremely thorough with her assessment and took time to explain her findings in detail with me a few days after the assessment. She is extremely friendly and welcoming, which puts young children at ease. I will be recommending Chris to others in need of assessment in the future.
My daughter was very apprehensive about going along for her assessment with Chris. However, the minute Chris opened the front door, we were welcomed with open arms. When I collected my daughter the first thing she said when she got in the car was ‘Chris understands me!’ The report, which we initially chatted through over a Zoom call then hardcopy followed via email, was extremely thorough with every part of the process explained in detail. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone looking for this service. Many thanks to Chris.
